My Approach to Individual Counselling
Life can present many challenges — whether it’s anxiety, depression, family or relationship difficulties, low self-worth, trauma, or simply feeling stuck.
My approach to counselling is grounded in the belief that every person has the capacity for growth, healing, and change when offered the right conditions.
As a Humanistic and Integrative Counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to meet your unique needs, providing a space that is empathic, genuine, confidential, and non-judgmental. Our sessions are collaborative, allowing you to explore your experiences safely and at your own pace.
Together, we can work through issues such as:
• Family and relationship difficulties
• Marital problems or separation
• Anxiety, stress, and panic attacks
• Depression and low mood
• Low self-esteem or lack of self-worth
• Past or childhood trauma
• Domestic or sexual abuse
• Grief, bereavement, or loss
• Work-related stress and burnout
• Life transitions, such as retirement, illness, or changes in identity
My role is to support you in:
• Understanding patterns of thought, emotion, and behaviour that may be holding you back
• Gaining insight into how your past may influence your present
• Developing healthier coping strategies and emotional resilience
• Building a stronger sense of self-acceptance and confidence
• Empowering you to create lasting, positive change in your life
I work from a person-centred foundation, integrating elements from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic and Solution-Focused approaches, as well as Mindfulness and Life Coaching techniques where appropriate. This flexibility allows us to tailor the therapy to what feels most effective for you.
Whether you are seeking counselling for a specific issue or simply want space to reflect and grow, our work together is about helping you reconnect with your inner resources and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and balance.
As a qualified Humanistic and Integrative counsellor with over 25 years of experience, I offer a warm, empathic, and non-judgmental space where you can feel supported.
My work is tailored to your needs, combining different counselling methods to help you explore challenges at your own pace. Together, we can:
- Identify unhelpful patterns
- Build resilience and coping strategies
- Increase self-awareness and confidence
- Work through past experiences that may still affect you
- Support you to create the changes you want in your life
